About me

IMG_20201101_093208

I am  a Research Associate in the Astrophysics and Cosmology group at Brookhaven National Laboratory, working on deblending and denoising galaxy images using deep learning for the 10-year Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) to be conducted at Vera C. Rubin observatory currently under construction at Cerro Pachon, Chile. Prior to starting here, I was a CNRS Postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratoire de Physique de Clermont Ferrand, France, working to develop machine learning techniques for photometric classification of Supernovae. I completed my Ph.D. in Physics from the Institute for Astro-and Particle Physics, University of Innsbruck, Austria (2014-2018). My research interests include extragalactic astrophysics in general and galaxies and machine learning techniques in particular. I am a member of the LSST-DESC, RESSPECT,  MATLAS and SNAD collaborations.

When I’m not racking my brains about what’s up THERE, I read, do yoga and occasionally blog about books here, https://www.instagram.com/lostwispofcosmicdust/.
